Back in January, sad news hit the Milwaukee restaurant scene when Hello Falafel suddenly closed up shop. But it wasn’t all sad news: owners Melissa Buchholz and Ross Bachhuber announced that the space at 2301 S. Howell Ave. would be converted into Little Duck Kitchen, a catering and private event space for their other restaurant, Odd Duck. Now, Little Duck is ready to waddle its way to life. Awww! Just look at that little guy!
On Sunday, May 20, Little Duck will host a Spring Foragers & Farmers Dinner. The inaugural event will “showcase the harbingers of spring here in Wisconsin with a collaborative multi-course tasting menu from Executive Chef Ross Bachhuber and Guest Chef Cole Ersel.” What’s more…
Each course will focus on a first-of-the-season farmed or foraged ingredient from our lovely state in an exploration of a lovely season in this place we call home. Expect items such as fiddlehead ferns, morel & pheasant back mushrooms, spring onions, watercress, ramps, spring peas, spruce tips, rhubarb and more!
Reservations for the event are extremely limited—like, 24-seats-limited—so potential spring foragers are encouraged to call Odd Duck at 414-763-5881 ASAP. The event is $100 before tax and gratuity, with wine pairings included. It begins with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6.30 p.m.
Buchholz notes that if the event sells out quickly—and, come on, you know it will—another seating may be added on Saturday, May 19. Hop on those reservations now, folks.
