It’s been roughly 18 months since that dumpy Cousins Subs on the corner of Oakland Avenue and Locust Street was closed, knocked down, and mourned. But now, in the bright new year of 2020, it’s back, baby! In a bright, new, and not-so-dumpy form on the ground floor of the new Eastsider luxury apartment building!

The new-old Cousins Subs is open right now. We haven’t stopped by yet (don’t worry, we will), but here’s a press release. Oh, and if you bump into us on the street, remind us to tell you about the time we ordered Cousins delivery and some guy in our building signed for it, ate our sub, and then told us about it. Weird.

Also: R.I.P. that mosaic on the original, dumpy Cousins.

Cousins Subs in Milwaukee’s East Side is Back and Better than Ever
Restaurant reopens in The Eastsider with updated look and feel

MILWAUKEE (January 7, 2020) – Cousins Subs® in Milwaukee’s East Side neighborhood reopened today in The Eastsider – a modern, multi-purpose luxury apartment building – on the corner of Oakland Avenue and Locust Street.

The 1,775 square-foot restaurant, owned and operated by Capri Subs, LLC., is Cousins Subs 40th remodeled location to feature the company’s rebranding elements – natural wood, stone and metal accents, décor that promotes the brand’s cuisine philosophy, rich history and commitment to the community through its Make It Better Foundation, new logo and digital menu boards that feature dynamic pricing – an initiative Cousins Subs announced in May of 2016 to create a streamlined look and feel across all restaurants in the sub shop’s current and future markets.

“The Eastsider is a new development in Milwaukee’s East Side that modernizes the historic neighborhood and appeals to those who live, work and study in the area,” said Joe Ferguson, Vice President of Development at Cousins Subs. “Cousins Subs is proud to be the sub sandwich shop of choice for many students, residents and businesses in the neighborhood and is confident this redeveloped location will exceed guests’ expectations.”

The new restaurant offers Cousins Subs’ full menu of deli fresh and grilled to order subs and made to order sides for dine in, pick up and delivery. Guests can also place catering orders through the location via the Cousins Subs website. Patrons who are enrolled in Cousins Club – the brand’s new point-based loyalty program – will receive one point for every $1 spent both online and in store.

The location will employ 15 hardworking crew members and will be open all week long from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Capri Subs, LLC. owns and operates four Cousins Subs locations in the greater Milwaukee area, three of which have been remodeled over the last two years.
